Junction Boxes by IRD Mechanalysis Limited

As a part of our offering in Online Systems - we make and sell Junction Boxes of different Shapes, Size and Material of Construction for use with our Sensors, Transmitters and Monitoring Systems. These Junction Boxes are typically used to Terminate Input and Output Connections in the Field and can sometimes also be used for housing Electronics that need Dust and Weather Protection.

We offer several varities of Materials for the Enclosure of the Junction Box as listed below. We can provide other materials also if specified. Below list covers the popular Materials used by us for the enclosure:

  1. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP)
  2. Thermoplastic ABS
  3. Mild Steel (MS)
  4. Stainless Steel (SS)
  5. Cold Rolled Cold Annealed (CRCA)
  6. Aluminium Die Cast

FRP

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Junction Box

High Strength

Composite material made by combining a polymer matrix with fibrous reinforcements like glass, carbon, or aramid and thus has a High Strength-to-Weight ratio

Durable

With Canopy, Lockable Hinged Doors, Input and Output Cable Glands and Plugs. Available in different sizes - the Junction Box is made to Last

Corrosion Resistant

Ideal to house Terminals and/or Electronics in Corrosive Atmosphere like Cooling Towers

Thermoplastic

Thermoplastic ABS Junction Box

Rigid

Cheaper than FRP whilst still maintaining Good Strength and Resistance for General Applications

Chemical Resistance

The material exhibits resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and various solvents

Smooth Glossy Appearance

The smooth and glossy surface of ABS enhances its aesthetic appeal, making it suitable for applications where appearance is important

CRCA

Cold Rolled Cold Annealed (CRCA)

Robust and Durable

CRCA sheet metal is known for its strength and ability to withstand physical impacts and rough conditions, making it a robust choice for junction boxes

Fire Resistant

Metal junction boxes, including those made from CRCA, are fire-resistant, providing an extra layer of protection against fire hazards

Good Grounding

Metal junction boxes facilitate proper grounding, which is essential for electrical safety and protection against electrical faults

SS

Stainless Steel (SS) Junction Box

Superior Corrosion Resistance

Stainless steel's chromium content creates a protective oxide layer, preventing rust and corrosion, even in environments with high moisture or chemical exposure

Durability and Longevity

SS is known for its strength and resistance to wear and tear, ensuring the enclosure and its contents remain protected for an extended period

EMI Shielding

Stainless steel provides excellent shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI), protecting sensitive electronic equipment

Al Die Cast

Aluminium Die Cast Junction Box

Versatile

Die-Cast Aluminium boxes are remarkably versatile, they are immune to corrosion (can be coated for added resistance)

High Ingress Protection

Can achieve the higher level of ingress protection (IP 67/68) than plastic enclosures could offer and are lighter if compared to other metals like stainless steel; accordingly, they are more suitable for demanding settings such as saline waters, water treatment plants

EMI/RFI Resistant

The key benefit of aluminium enclosures is their EMI/RFI protection, which is crucial for areas (like cities) with a high level of sound pollution. Junction Boxes also offer a series with enhanced EMI/RFI protection and are essential to eliminate high frequency emitted emissions

Explosion Proof

Explosion Proof Junction Box

Use in Hazardous Areas

Explosion-proof junction boxes offer crucial safety by preventing the spread of explosions and fires in hazardous environments, protecting personnel and equipment. They are designed to contain internal explosions and prevent ignition of flammable materials outside the box

PESO/CCOE, ATEX Certification

PESO, CCOE, CIMFR and ATEX rated Junction Boxes available for different Hazardous Zones like Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2

Hazardous Gas and Dust Zones

Junction Box also available for Hazardous Dust Areas - Zone 20, Zone 21 and Zone 22
