Sensor used for Gap Monitoring
Non-Contact Eddy Current Based Sensor
Non-Contact Eddy Current Based Sensors can be used for Radial and Axial Gap Monitoring. These Sensors comprise of a Probe, Extension Cable and Driver Unit. The Probe is either Forward or Reverse mounted on the machine and locked at -10V DC (the middle position or ZERO position), the extension cable allows the signal to reach the Driver Unit which can be Plate mounted or Din Rail mounted within a Junction Box. The Driver unit provides a DC Output proportional to Gap. The Tip size determines the Sensitivity of the Driver Unit with common values being 8V/mm for 8mm tip dia probes. For such 8V/mm sensitivity - M88300 Gap Module can sense +/- 1.00 mm Gap
