Air Borne Noise (ABN) and Structure Borne Noise (SBN)

Rotary Equipments generate Sound and Vibration when they run. The Sound and Vibration of the equipment must be below a tolerance level for safe and efficient operation of the equipment. For equipment such as Gearboxes, Water Filters, Distillation Plants, etc. installed in Ships, Submarines and Vessels; The Sound made is measured and reported as Air Borne Noise (ABN) and the Vibration passed on to supports is measured and reported as Structure Borne Noise (SBN).

These measurements are carried out with specialized equipment such as Vibration Analyzers and Sound Level Meters. The measurements are done and reported in accordance to MIL-STD-740-2 and ISO 3744. These measurements are often used in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing). The measurement is done at 1/3 Octave Band Frequencies

We have a team of experts who can carry out Air Borne Noise (ABN) and Structure Borne Noise (SBN) measurements at the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) or SAT (Site Acceptance Test) location and provide you with a report along with recommendations on the measurement. Please contact us if you have a requirement.
